Stay In The Know:

Fear of Change

I had a conversation the other day with a friend about fear. She was telling me that she was afraid of change and it was keeping her from moving along into a better position in her life and out of a toxic relationship. I could understand where she was coming from because I too have been too scared to leave a situation or a person because I was unsure of what life would be like after that change. I was afraid of the transition and trying to adapt to new situations, feelings, or people. Or sometimes I would be afraid of being alone with my own thoughts in the aftermath.

It’s crazy the way that we are conditioned to think about adversity and change. It’s way too easy to give up or retreat from trying new things because we are so afraid of the unknown. Not only that, but the world makes us so focused on the negative and to be skeptics and to not have faith in ourselves. The crazy thing about that is that if we had more faith in ourselves and in the natural forces of The Universe (or God) working in our favor when we want something with all our heart- life would be way more fulfilling for all of us and nothing but positivity would come into fruition. Have you heard of The Secret or the Law of Attraction? We have such a warped understanding of how we are really connected to God and everything else on the face of the Earth to the point where we are hindering ourselves from becoming our best version of ourselves and living our best life.

I am reading a book right now called The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It’s a really great read if you haven’t picked the book up already. But it is about a young man who was a shepherd. And he ends up putting his whole lifestyle aside in search of his Personal Legend or Destiny. He goes through all these changes and challenges on the way and never once was he scared because he knew that this was what was really meant for him. All along the way he is able to identify “omens” or signs that help lead him to his treasure.

""We are afraid of losing what we have,

whether it's our life or our possessions and property.

but this fear evaporates when we understand that our

life stories and the history of the world

were written by the same hand."

- Paulo Coelho

Change is inevitable, and without change there would never be any growth. Change is something that we have no control over most times. The seasons change, your cells die and regenerate into brand new ones, and sometimes “life happens”. But usually when we are in the midst of a big transition it's hard to see the significance or good that it can be for you. But how many times have you thought back to a previous time in your life and realized that you wouldn’t be the person you are now without going through those things? It’s a miracle to be able to have the opportunity to make a change for yourself for the better! Try not to worry too much over things you can’t control because it is out of your hands anyways. The best thing to do is embrace change and embrace what life throws at you. Because it is all for a reason. Don’t let fear keep you from your blessings either.

I took a huge leap of faith and decided to start my own business. I know that it may not be easy at first but with faith in myself and in God I know that anything is possible and life is what you make it- don’t believe anything otherwise!

Peace & Love xx
